JOB TITLE: Visual Designer (12 Month FTC)
SALARY: £61,344 – £68,160
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: 35 Hours, Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid; at least two days per week (or 40% of time) at an office site. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a passionate Visual Designer to raise the quality bar and bring our digital experiences to life for our customers.
- Own and deliver the visual design of our Digital Cards and Wallets experiences, while engaging with customers through rich storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Experience Design team of interaction designers, researchers, content writers and strategists, working confidently as part of agile teams to uncover priorities, visualise outcomes, and define scope.
- Identify and solve real customer problems, putting human needs at the heart of every problem we solve.
- Provide visual direction and support in raising the quality of the mobile application to bring delight and joy.
- Apply creative thinking to solve complex problems and make them simple.
- Produce design production assets, infographics, logos and other elements.
- Design engaging digital experiences and interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Design and layout pages and User Interfaces, skilfully and creatively using components from a central design system to balance content and UI elements on screen.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7-10 years experience as a Visual Designer, driving delivery and raising visual design quality for a product.
- Proficiency with prototyping software, specifically Figma (required).
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat.
- Experience solving visual design challenges and delivering experience led brand digital journeys.
- Understanding and contributing to an existing digital Design System and advocating accessibility standards.
- Strong ability to see designs through delivery-communicating with developers to ensure designs meet specifications and can be used by a broad range of users of all backgrounds, ages and abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with a full stack design team, including Researchers, Content Designers, Service Designers and Interaction Designers.
