Job Description
People Partner
Clydebank Office-Based with Hybrid options available when needed
Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
We’re delighted to be exclusively partnering with Northern Marine Group to recruit a People Partner to join their established People team during an exciting period of growth and change.
This is a business where people genuinely matter and where HR is viewed as a valued partner to the wider organisation. As they continue to evolve, they’re looking for a credible HR professional who can build trust, influence stakeholders and provide sound judgement across a broad range of people matters.
This role is about more than policy.
You’ll be comfortable supporting managers and leaders, coaching through challenges and providing practical, commercially minded advice.
But what will really set you apart is your ability to read a room, understand the dynamics behind the conversation, build credibility with a wide range of stakeholders, and identify trends to spot potential issues early so you can work proactively to find solutions before challenges arise.
What will you be doing?
Working closely with managers and leaders across the business, you’ll provide support across the full employee lifecycle and contribute to a variety of people initiatives and projects.
- Advising and coaching managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Supporting recruitment, retention and workforce planning activity
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Supporting learning, development, wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives
- Using people data and insights to identify trends and opportunities
- Supporting compensation and benefits activity
- Contributing to HR projects, process improvements and organisational change initiatives
- Promoting best practice, compliance and a positive employee experience
Who will thrive here?
You’ll be comfortable operating in a highly professional, structured and safety led environment and will enjoy working with managers who value HR’s input and expect you to add genuine value.
You’ll naturally build trust, understand stakeholder dynamics and can confidently guide managers through people challenges while balancing the needs of both the individual and the business.
You enjoy building relationships and earning trust, and people value your judgement because you’re approachable, pragmatic and discreet.
Most importantly, you balance confidence with humility. You know when to listen, when to challenge and when to support.

We’re looking to speak with credible People Partners who bring broad generalist HR experience and enjoy working closely with the business.
- Broad generalist HR experience
- Strong employee relations capability
- Confidence coaching and influencing managers
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness and pragmatic decision making
- Strong employment law knowledge
- High levels of emotional intelligence
- A proactive and solutions focused approach
