What’s the job?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Member Engagement Manager to join our small, talented and collaborative Member Engagement team at ICAS.

Reporting to the Senior Member Engagement Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing and delivering ICAS’ member engagement strategy, helping to build meaningful, lasting relationships with members and increase member value, satisfaction and retention.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across ICAS to strengthen engagement across the breadth of our member community , acting as a trusted relationship builder through our UK Area Networks, International Ambassadors and member communities.

Working alongside two other Member Engagement Managers, and with support from the Senior Engagement Manager, you’ll be part of a close and collaborative team focused on creating high-quality member experiences and ensuring our members feel connected, supported and valued.

Together, you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of the member engagement strategy and workplan, ensuring activity is aligned to ICAS’ strategic objectives
  • Lead and deliver specific member engagement projects, ensuring agreed KPIs and performance targets are achieved.
  • Drive awareness of and engagement with the ICAS mentoring programme and wider career support initiatives.
  • Act as a key relationship contact for Area Network committees, International Ambassadors and member networks, building trust, maintaining strong two-way communication, surfacing feedback and supporting member-led plans.
  • Use data, insight and customer personas to understand member needs, track performance and continuously improve engagement activity.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Business Development and Events colleagues to deliver effective campaigns, communications and engagement opportunities.
  • Manage quarterly board, committee and panel recruitment campaigns, working with internal stakeholders to attract and retain the right member talent.
  • Support the Senior Member Engagement Manager to run ICAS Members’ Board delivering the Board workplan and assisting with secretariat duties.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with members, member networks and key employers of Chartered Accountants, acting as an advocate for a genuinely member-focused culture across ICAS.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about building meaningful connections with members and who can bring the experience, care and relationship-focused approach needed to help us deepen engagement and deliver high-quality member experiences.

You’ll have at least three years’ experience in membership, client engagement or communications role, preferably within professional services , and you’ll understand how to build engagement activity around the needs of members and customers.

Our team’s focus is on strengthening how ICAS engages with members – building trust, delivering value and creating career-long relationships that support member satisfaction , loyalty and retention.

Excellent relationship management skills are essential. You’ll be confident in building, managing and developing positive professional relationships, supported by strong influencing and interpersonal skills. You’ll know how to build credibility, listen well, communicate constructively and work effectively with members, committees, ambassadors, colleagues and professional partners.

You’ll also bring first-class communication skills, with the ability to understand members and customer needs and translate these into clear, cohesive engagement plans and actions. Strong project management experience is important too, as you’ll need to manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects to a high standard, often working to demanding deadlines.

If you can combine strong engagement experience with excellent relationship skills, confident communication and organised project delivery, we’d be keen to hear from you.

Experience of using data and insight to inform engagement plans would be helpful, as would experience of setting or achieving engagement or communications KPIs. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook, are essential.

Additional Information

The role will require travel within the UK, with occasional unsociable hours and the possibility of overnight stays. The successful candidate will be expected to work professionally, cooperatively and flexibly in line with the needs of the role, the department and ICAS.
