Practice Team Leader

Salary: £35,000 per annum, pro rata

Location: Ellon, Aberdeenshire. Hybrid role including outreach work and working from home

Contract/Hours: The post is funded initially for 12 months, with commitment to continued funding for Years 2 and 3. Part time – 14.8 hours per week with flexibility around work pattern

Closing date: Midnight Sunday 2nd August; interviews provisionally scheduled to take place on 6th and 7th August

A bit about the role

As a Practice Team Leader, you’ll play a central role in bringing this new area of work to life. Working alongside the Children’s Service Manager you’ll guide and support practitioners to deliver high quality, child centred practice, while building strong partnerships across local services to strengthen our collective response to exploitation.

You’ll also contribute directly to work with young people and families when needed, lead on gathering evidence and insights, and help shape practice development and wider policy change. This is a role where your leadership, compassion, and commitment can make a lasting difference.

About the service

Action for Children’s Intensive Intervention Service is a voluntary, relationship based service supporting children and young people aged 11-18 who may be at risk of, or coerced into, serious offending or criminal exploitation.

We work closely with each young person, offering intensive 1:1 support, group work, and meaningful diversionary activities that help them build confidence, develop practical skills, and make positive choices. Our focus is on helping them re engage with education, training, or employment-and on creating opportunities for them to feel safe, valued, and hopeful about their future.

What you do could make a difference

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day delivery of the CCE service to ensure high-quality support.
• Support practitioners to deliver workshops, one-to-one work, and engagement with young people and families.
• Provide direct support in complex or high-risk cases and promote young people’s voices.
• Monitor, record, and analyse data to meet reporting requirements and improve practice.
• Build strong partnerships and represent the service in multi-agency meetings, promoting safeguarding best practice.
• Manage records, scheduling, and communication to ensure smooth service operations.

• Knowledgeable in safeguarding, risk assessment, and professional boundaries.
• Flexible, reflective team player committed to young people’s wellbeing and continuous improvement.
• To hold or to be willing to work towards a qualification relevant to the work or experience and ongoing professional development.
• To participate in a flexible working rota to provide support for young people; some evening and weekend work will be required.
• Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel across a large rural catchment according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
