Job Description
Overview
We are looking for a conscientious, hands on working supervisor to assist in the smooth running of our retail units within Central Fife. The units include the dining room and Grab & Go within Victoria Hospital as well as our cafe at Whyteman’s Brae hospital. The service covers breakfast, lunch and a growing hospitality provision.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities across the retail catering service, dining room, Grab & Go and Whyteman’s Brae Cafe, ensuring the highest standards of performance.
- Motivate, support and train team members to deliver excellent customer service.
- Work closely with chefs and assist in the kitchen when required.
- Take a hands on approach at the servery and support service during busy periods.
- Ensure all HACCP, food safety, health and safety and cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation across all retail service areas.
- Assist with stock control and work alongside chefs to ensure food presentation meets high standards and minimise waste.

Qualifications and Requirements
You will require strong supervision skills, excellent communication, superb problem solving abilities, and immaculate attention to detail. A background in the hospitality or retail sector is vital. A strong understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures, and a hand on team spirit to lead and motivate a fast paced environment.
You will be required to work various shifts to meet the needs of an ever changing, fluctuating service.
Shift Hours
The department operates from 6 am to 5 pm, seven days a week including public holidays. Hours of work are predominantly 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, but coverage outside this window may be required.
