Transport Administration Clerk

Location

Location: Coatbridge

Work Pattern

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

Summary of Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Transport Administration Clerk to join a busy transport operation in Coatbridge. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of transport activities, maintaining accurate records and supporting drivers, planners and customers.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process transport and delivery documentation
• Update internal systems with vehicle, driver and delivery information
• Monitor and maintain transport records and compliance paperwork
• Liaise with drivers regarding routes, schedules and delivery updates
• Handle customer enquiries and provide timely updates on deliveries
• Produce reports and maintain spreadsheets as required
• Support the transport team with general administrative duties
• Ensure all records are maintained in line with company procedures.

Skills and Knowledge

• Previous administrative experience, ideally within a transport or logistics environment
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills
• Proactive and reliable approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• Previous experience within transport, logistics or distribution
• Knowledge of transport documentation and compliance requirements
• Experience working with transport management systems
