We in the team are looking to recruit a trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner (APP) Band 6. The role is based at the Borders General Hospital, working 34.5 hours per week in day/night rotation.

Responsibilities

The successful delivery of safe, effective and efficient person-centred care relies on our Advanced Care Practitioners having transformational leadership qualities, resilience, flexibility to change, and working closely as part of a multidisciplinary team.

As a trainee, you will receive support to gain an advanced practice qualification via QMU or Napier University. Upon completion of levels 1 and 2 of the qualification, you will progress to Band 7 ANP.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should be registered Nurses or Paramedics with extensive experience in an acute or on the road setting (previous applicants need not apply). Experience in ED, ITU, HDU, Trauma, Surgical or Medical settings is preferred.

We seek professionals with an interest in advanced practice and professional development. Qualified ACPs may commence or continue on Band 7.

Training and Pay (Annex 21)

For trainees covered by Annex 21, the period of training lasts between one and four years. Pay during training is structured as follows:

• up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 % of the maximum of the fully qualified pay band
• more than 12 months but less than 24 months prior to completion of training: 70 % of the maximum qualified rate
• more than 24 months but less than 36 months prior to completion of training: 65 % of the maximum qualified rate
• more than 36 months post training: 60 % of the maximum fully qualified rate

Other Information

To work in the United Kingdom, an individual must demonstrate the relevant permission to work in the country via the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
