Job Description

Peace Recruitment is working with a reputable Scottish Water contractor who are looking to add a Sub Agent to their growing team in Dumfries. Freelance and permanent candidates will be considered. Local candidates will be preferred although accommodation can potentially be provided.

Role Overview:
As a Sub Agent or Site Agent, you will be responsible for the management and successful delivery of water infrastructure projects, ensuring that all activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead the site team, coordinate with various stakeholders, and manage the day-to-day operations on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Site Supervision: Manage and supervise site activities, including setting out, health and safety compliance, and site logistics.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate site teams, including engineers, operatives, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and smooth project delivery.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise on-site.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, site diaries, and cost control documentation.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the project specifications, industry standards, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a Sub Agent or Site Agent role within civil engineering, ideally within the water industry.
  • Education: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and health & safety regulations, particularly in water infrastructure projects.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage site teams effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Driving License: A valid UK driving license is essential.
