About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available to supplement the existing team within our Supported Discharge Unit at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for an enthusiastic registered nurse who is keen to enhance and develop their clinical and management skills in a fast paced, nurse and doctor led unit within the acute hospital setting.
In this role, there is an expectation of collaborative working with MDT colleagues, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We also work very closely with the Health and Social Care Partnership and social work services to ensure that patients’ journeys and discharges are safe and meet their specific needs.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate transfers of care to other care environments and support patients returning to their own homes, prioritising individual needs
- Ensure safe and effective care is delivered, enhancing the patient experience and contributing to the organisation’s objectives
- Participate in the development of care pathways and further enhance personal clinical and leadership skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered nurse with post registration experience desirable
- Demonstrable clinical and professional practice development through experience and theoretical knowledge
- Understanding of the complexities of caring for individuals with acute medical and chronic illnesses
- Commitment to patient centred care and effective team working, with excellent communication skills
Working hours
A full time position, requiring 36 hours per week, with a rotational schedule that includes days, nights, and weekend shifts.
Additional requirements
Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
Legal right to work in the United Kingdom, as the UK Visa and Immigration Service must grant permission.
