Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our team within the Acute Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital. We are looking for a motivated, caring and compassionate nurse who is able to work well under pressure and already experienced or looking to gain experience within an acute environment. The Acute Medicine Unit covers an Acute Assessment Unit, Ambulatory Emergency Care and Medical High Dependency Unit. The Acute Assessment Unit (Ward GA) admits acutely unwell patients directly from the community and Emergency Department. This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse team, have excellent care values and a good sense of humour. They should also have enthusiasm to work and to learn and develop both themselves and their colleagues. Candidates must have strong written and verbal English language skills.

We help to support staff on career pathways to develop skills which can lead to a variety of roles including Senior Staff Nurses, Senior Charge Nurses and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. Additional Information for Candidates
- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
