Job Description

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our international marine manufacturing client based in the Glasgow region. This is a permanent role, salary negotiable by experience plus pension scheme, life assurance cover etc. You will be experience with product lifecycle management system for generating engineering packages

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering design solutions, working as a technical lead within the engineering team
  • Supporting client requests for upgrades and for new product design
  • Input into new systems and products for engineering design
  • Create bill of materials and source suitable components and materials when required

Skills and Experience required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role:

    • Proven mechanical design skills, able to generate design calculation
    • Excellent Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and knowledge of gas and fluid systems.
    • Knowledge of Pressure Vessel design skills using PD5500, ASME VIII, EN 13445
    • Knowledge of design standards and of industry guidelines and relevant codes, standards, regulations and procedures (Lloyds, DNV, ABS, DEFSTAN, MIL-STD).
    • Knowledge of testing methods and of engineering analysis programs (ANSYS Workbench, MathCAD, Finglow.).
    • Experience in using Solidworks or similar software.
    • Previous experience in a Mechanical Engineer or Product Engineer role.
    • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
    • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
