Preconstruction Manager Civils Design & Build
Office Full-Time, Office-Based
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Preconstruction Manager to join a growing and ambitious team working on design and build civils packages as part of the Scottish Power Framework.
This role will report into a Senior Preconstruction Manager and play a key role in helping shape and develop the preconstruction function as the business continues to expand. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the delivery of technically strong and commercially competitive projects from the earliest stages.
What You ll Be Doing:
- Coordinating early project activities, including estimating, design input, planning, and procurement strategy
- Preparing and supporting high-quality tender submissions
- Collaborating with design teams, engineers, and commercial leads to align technical and delivery elements
- Contributing to the development of a growing preconstruction team
- Bringing buildability insight and innovation to the design and planning process
Who We re Looking For:
There s flexibility in background what matters most is relevant experience, a strong work ethic, and the desire to be part of a close-knit, ambitious team. Ideal candidates may come from:
- A Preconstruction Manager background within a civils or SSE contractor, ideally with an engineering foundation
- Related experience in rail, utilities, or housing sectors, particularly on design and build frameworks
- A delivery Project Manager looking to make the move into preconstruction and bring practical, on-site experience to the early phases of delivery
Please note: this is an office-based role in Motherwell. While hybrid working isn t currently supported, flexibility around start/finish times can be offered to accommodate commitments like school drop-offs and pick-ups.
