Job Description

About the Role

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) at Enable play a vital role in making a positive difference every day for the people we support. No two days are the same, but you can be confident that you will be helping someone achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be.

Project Overview

The Twechar Project, based in the village of Twechar, offers short break respite care to adults with a learning disability, some of whom also have a physical disability. The service can accommodate up to five individuals at any one time, encouraging each person to engage in activities that match their interests. Each user has an individual support plan that reflects assessed need and personal likes, ensuring they receive high standard care and are treated with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with personal care, moving and handling, or positive behavioural support.
  • Expand the social networks and connections of those you support.
  • Collaborate with the team of Personal Assistants to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations of all service users are met.
  • Support people through their personal support plans to help them achieve their goals and celebrate successes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to adapt your communication style to build successful and enjoyable relationships with people you support.
  • Commitment to work autonomously and as part of a team, consistently demonstrating a positive and flexible outlook.
  • Strong observational and relational skills, with an eagerness to discover and support individual interests, hobbies, and aspirations.
