Contract: Sessional

Pay: £13.45 hourly

Job description: Personal Assistants (Support Workers) play a critical role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities. They provide personal care, moving and handling, positive behavioural support and help expand social networks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and positive behavioural support.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of clients are met.
  • Support individuals to achieve their goals and outcomes throughout the day.
  • Engage in activities that reflect the person’s interests, such as sewing, baking, horse riding, swimming or hill walking.

Qualifications

  • Ability to adapt communication style to build successful and enjoyable relationships with supported people.
  • Commitment to work with individuals through their personal support plans to help them achieve goals and celebrate successes.
  • Positive and flexible outlook; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Other Information

Experience in care is not required; values and transferable skills are valued.
