About the Placement

We are looking for personal assistants (support workers) to support Heidi in her transition to a new home and to help her live a fulfilling life. Heidi will be based in Kirkwall and will attend a variety of daily activities to build her social skills and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Heidi with daily living tasks and support her transition to a new home.
  • Engage with Heidi in her hobbies such as watching TV shows, playing mathematically based games, attending local cafes, historical sites, community events, and visits to the library.
  • Support Heidi in building social skills and gaining confidence in social settings within the community.
  • Provide person centred support as part of a close team of support workers.

Shift patterns

  • 9am-3pm
  • 9am-9pm
  • 9am-9pm – overnight support shift

We offer a flexible approach to contracted hours, shift patterns and shift times that can work around childcare and other commitments.

Requirements

  • Desire to support and a commitment to helping others.
  • No prior care experience required – we value transferable skills and personal values.
  • Capability to engage in a supportive, person centred approach.
