MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Location: West Glasgow
Salary: Up to £55,000 (Inclusive of Flexibility Allowance)
Shift: Perm Lates (Monday-Thursday, 11:30 – 22:00)
Job Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is required to join a heavy industrial manufacturing site in West Glasgow, supporting production on a back shift pattern within a physically demanding environment.
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining mechanical reliability across site, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive breakdowns and supporting production with ongoing machinery issues. You will be working across large-scale equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, motors and associated drive systems.
The role will also involve supporting maintenance activities during planned shutdown periods and contributing to general improvements across the site, requiring a practical and proactive approach to engineering.
Sector – Factory Maintenance
Heavy industrial manufacturing environment involving large mechanical systems and high-load material handling equipment.
Non Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Engineering Qualification (minimum Level 3 or equivalent)
Multi Skilled Experience
FMCG or Heavy Industrial background
Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Strong mechanical fault finding skills
Experience working on conveyors, gearboxes, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience working on production machinery
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Strong communication and safe working practices
Able to understand Electrical drawings
Desirable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Basic understanding of PLC systems
Experience working within heavy industrial environments
Physically fit
