Job Overview

Provide a Care at Home/Falls Response Service to vulnerable people in the community. The post holder will work as a Mobile Emergency Carer within the Home Care Associated Services Team of the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to community alarm calls.
  • Use specialised lifting equipment and move equipment and people, such as hoists and wheelchairs.
  • Assist fallen non injured clients in line with the Fife Falls guideline.
  • Provide support and personal care for service users and their carers in accordance with assessed needs, using professional, sensitive and flexible methods.
  • Work in accordance with National Care Standards and collaborate with health and social care partnership colleagues and partnership agencies.

Person Profile

  • Current driving licence and willingness to drive council vehicles.
  • SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Previous Care at Home experience.
  • Awareness of the National Care Standards.
  • Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment.
  • Positive, caring attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to undertake required tasks.

Additional Requirements

  • Successful applicants will have three months to apply for SSSC registration.
  • Applicants must start the registration process promptly to meet the six month deadline.
  • Applicants will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment.

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Salary: £26,786.83 £29,170.80 (Pro Rata)
  • Working Pattern: 28 hours per week – day, back, and night shifts on a 4 on 4 off rota.
  • Location: Bankhead Central, Glenrothes
