Job Title : Mechanical Fitter

Location : Glasgow

We are a leading engineering firm specializing in renewables projects and energy centre installations / retrofits. Our commitment to excellence and innovation in energy efficiency has established us as a premier partner for industrial and commercial energy solutions. We are expanding our team in Glasgow and seeking 2 experienced Mechanical Fitters with expertise in pipe fitting and the installation of large industrial components.

Job Summary :
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of pipe systems, buffer tanks, vessels, and other mechanical components within our renewable energy and energy centre projects. You will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals to ensure all mechanical systems meet our stringent quality standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities :
– Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and other technical drawings.
– Measuring, cutting, threading, and assembling new pipe systems, including high and low-pressure pipe systems.
– Installing and removing vessels, buffer tanks, and related equipment.
– Inspecting and replacing damaged or worn parts.
– Conducting routine maintenance on piping systems and mechanical components.
– Working with a variety of tools and machinery to perform installations and repairs.
– Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
– Communicating with project managers and clients to discuss project details and progress.
– Collaborating with other team members to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications :
– Proven work experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role in the renewables sector or related industries.
– Proficiency in working with various hand and power tools.
– Knowledgeable about industrial and construction safety standards.
– Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints and schematics.
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Good communication and interpersonal skills.
– Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Education & Certifications :
– Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting, pipefitting, or a related field is required.
– Certification in mechanical engineering or pipefitting is a plus.
