The Offshore Transactions team is part of Vestas Legal, Risk & Compliance that supports offshore wind turbine sales in Northern Europe. We are looking to add a Legal Counsel who will act as Specialist for Offshore Transactions in the NCE region, with a focus on the UK and Scottish market.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the NCE offshore sales department to negotiate offshore wind transactions
- Review and analyse tender documents issued by international clients, identifying and addressing legal and contractual risks
- Draft, review and negotiate turbine sales contracts, usually based on FIDIC Yellow Book, and long term service agreements
- Manage the support of external law firms
- Support the contract management and project management teams during transaction execution phases
- Identify ways to optimise business processes, develop and improve templates, refine company policies and processes, and apply best practices
Qualifications
- Master of Laws or equivalent
- Qualified lawyer in Scotland or England, with at least five years of experience as a transactional lawyer in either an international large sized company or an international law firm
- Previous experience in the renewables sector
- Knowledge of handling complex infrastructure contracts
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Additional legal qualification or experience working in another EU jurisdiction is a benefit
- Ability to handle complex contract structures under tight deadlines
- Advanced communication skills
- Strategic thinking and a solution oriented approach
