Junior Sous Chef
Location: The Mallard Hotel, Edinburgh
Salary: Circa £14.00 per hour
Hours: 48 hours per week (annualised contract)

The Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to support the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining high standards, leading sections during service, and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
– Supporting the senior kitchen team with daily kitchen operations
– Assisting in delivering consistently high-quality dishes
– Leading sections confidently during busy service periods
– Training and mentoring junior chefs
– Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
– Assisting with stock control and reducing waste
What We’re Looking For
– Previous experience as a strong Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef
– A passion for quality food and attention to detail
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment
– Strong leadership and communication skills
– A positive, hands-on approach and team-focused mindset
