The Team:

Pay, Terms and Conditions are a team within the Human Resources and Workforce Development Directorate. We aim to provide an excellent service, specialising in the following HR workstreams: Job Evaluation, Organisational Change, Redeployment, TUPE, Agenda for Change and Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of employment.

The Post:

We have an opportunity for an HR Officer to permanently join the team.

The HR Officer will be the first point of contact for our internal customer queries received in person, via video call or written enquiries. The post requires to administer processes related to the HR workstreams and associated information systems.

The Candidate:

We are looking for an individual to join the team who has experience of being the first point of customer contact, who can clearly communicate verbally and in writing. You can demonstrate sensitivity and confidentiality when responding to enquiries.

You should have in-depth skills in systems including Microsoft 365 and hold or have the equivalent relevant experience of an HNC in Office Administration (or similar subject). You have an eye for detail to ensure processes and information systems are accurate.

There should be proven experience of working within an HR team or administering HR-related processes in a large organisation. The candidate should expect variety and pace that comes from working daily on administrative activities servicing different workstreams and different specialists.

Location and Working Pattern:

Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. We have a flexible approach to work location where we blend office and home working, depending on service need and preference.

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (reducing to 36-hours from 1 st April 2026 as per NHS Scotland agreement, without loss of earnings.) This post is suitable for flexi-time.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
