Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is a large healthcare system serving a population of over 1.15 million people. The Physiotherapist role is within a multidisciplinary team working across acute and community settings in Renfrewshire HSCP, supporting frailty patients to maximise independence and wellbeing, facilitate early discharge and prevent avoidable hospital admissions.

You need to have a live HCPC registration and a valid UK driving licence to be considered for this post.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist within Renfrewshire HSCP at Renfrewshire House.
  • The post is full time, although part time options may be considered to provide resilience to the service.
  • Core hours are five days per week.
  • The service may move to working across seven days in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive assessment of frailty positive patients, including screening, multi professional baseline assessments, and provide a functional diagnosis to determine need for Physiotherapy intervention, using formal assessment tools as appropriate.
  • Following assessment, act autonomously to assess, develop, implement and evaluate Physiotherapy interventions for a range of patients, including highly complex presentations and those with multi factorial health and social needs, incorporating risk assessment to maximise functional independence and rehabilitation potential.
  • Provide specialist interventions using a wide range of treatment techniques, monitor, evaluate and modify treatment to ensure effectiveness, including frailty specific interventions, therapeutic handling techniques, functional rehabilitation, adaptation, specialist equipment provision and use, education and health improvement.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

Education and training will be aligned to the local induction and competency frameworks.
