Head of Health – North Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership Executive Grade D – £93,119- £119,295 per annum About The Organisation

NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

To provide strategic direction and leadership in the planning, management and provision of all health services within University North Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership.

To support an integrated whole system approach for the planning and delivery of primary, secondary, and acute services across the health and social care partnership.

To lead and develop on the contribution of the health and associated social care to the community planning processes, in partnership with local communities, third sector, and the independent sector, local authorities and other community planning partners. In doing so, ensure continued focus on the delivery of plans designed to support improvement in the health and wellbeing of local communities and specifically targeted to reduce health inequalities.

To lead on ensuring services are delivered in the most efficient, effective and collaborative manner while ensuring safe, person-centred care.

As a member of both University North Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Senior Management Team and Strategic Leadership Teams, fully contribute to and participate in the corporate management and governance and operational delivery of the health and social care partnership delivery plan. Overall accountability for the operational delivery of locality health services, core clinical care groups which sit within the University North Health & Social Care Partnership including Children’s Services, Adult Services and Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.

What You’ll Bring:

Educated to Masters level or equivalent with significant demonstrable senior management experience within a large complex organisation, preferably within the NHS or Local Authority

Professional registration as appropriate (health care, social work or related area) with evidence of continued professional development

Able to demonstrate integrity and effective leadership and management skills together with a proven track record of achievement in strategy and policy development and implementation.

A proven track record in the provision of strategic, creative and innovative solutions in meeting organisational requirements, motivating staff and providing seamless patient care in conjunction with community planning partners, communities and other stakeholders and staff and a deep understanding of the health and social care agenda in Scotland.

Ability to provide effective credible communication and an ability to operate effectively under pressure.

Recognise critical success factors in integration including a need to focus on creating the right culture and investing in relationships, the post holder will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Develop and maintain effective, positive relationships with key partners and partner organisations.
  • Provide a positive role model for partnership working within NHS Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire Council, within the Health and Social Care Partnership and more broadly within the Community Planning Partnership.
