The Role
Join a prestigious private school in Edinburgh as Head Chef, overseeing the preparation and delivery of exceptional breakfast and lunch services for pupils, staff, and visitors. We are looking for a talented, organized, and people-focused culinary leader to ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service throughout the day, while also supporting the delivery of hospitality and special events when required.

- Salary: £37,000 per annum
- Contract: 52 weeks per year (Permanent, full time position)
- Location: Edinburgh
- Schedule: Monday to Friday – 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Volume: Preparing fresh food for approximately 600 covers daily across breakfast and lunch services
- Team: Leading a structured, dedicated team consisting of a Sous Chef, a Kitchen Porter, and 5 Food Service Assistants
Key Responsibilities
As Head Chef you will oversee the daily preparation and delivery of fresh, nutritious breakfast and lunch services for approximately 600 covers. Ensure all dishes are made to the highest standards of food quality, visual presentation, and taste across all daily dining and hospitality functions. Manage, mentor, and motivate your kitchen team, coordinating the Food Service Assistants who will actively support you with daily food preparation. Maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, health and safety regulations, and strict allergen management across the entire operation.
