Job Description
First People Solutions are looking for a full-time Ground Operations Officer to join our Aberdeen team on a fixed-term basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all ground operations safely for both helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft
- Tow aircraft and ground equipment as required
- Provide safety cover during aircraft start-up and shutdown
- Refuel helicopters and support post-flight tasks, including cleaning
- Prepare, load, and unload baggage and freight in line with aircraft limits
- Identify and report any non-compliant or unsafe items
- Perform daily checks on vehicles, equipment, and ramp conditions
- Support winter safety measures, including de-icing walkways and maintaining grit supplies
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying and reporting hazards
Requirements
Qualifications (desirable but not essential):
- Forklift licence
- HGV Class 2 licence
- Dangerous Goods Awareness
Essential:
- Full driving licence
Experience & Skills:
- Previous ground operations experience is beneficial (training provided)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and able to work shifts, including weekends
- Able to work independently and follow procedures
- Comfortable with physical tasks, including some heavy lifting
- Strong focus on safety and confidence to raise concerns
