About the Department

Group Finance, responsible for Group reporting, financial planning and analysis, Treasury and Capital.

About the Role

This is an important role within the Group reporting team in finance. The role holder will be responsible for a range of activities including reporting adjusted operating profit and other key performance indicators, supporting the production of the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and Half Year Results (HYR) announcement including the strategic report section, and additional reporting and technical accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate reporting of adjusted operating profit and other KPIs internally and externally.
• Support monthly/quarterly reporting processes including segmental reporting, associates/joint ventures and significant listed investments.
• Prepare and review the Strategic Report section of the Group’s ARA and HYR announcement.
• Support enhancements to corporate reporting and review best practice reporting.
• Assist with Group’s IFRS external reporting to the market, including reporting in the annual report and accounts and the Half Year Results document.
• Develop finance systems knowledge (HFM and Workiva) to optimize technology use for insight and analysis.
• Deliver continuous process and quality improvements by challenging existing practices and implementing changes aligned with industry best practice.
• Support ad hoc business/reporting related projects as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (essential).
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, able to communicate complex matters to a range of audiences (essential).
• Proficiency in financial systems and strong Excel skills (essential).
• A background in financial services, regulatory or audit environment (highly desirable).
