Description

This role involves managing the procurement of services and equipment on various projects, which includes supply chain development, procurement strategy, tendering and evaluation, negotiation, contract management, and expediting.

The ideal candidate for this fixed-term contract position will have previous experience in the procurement of plant and equipment within an engineering environment and will be a key member of the project delivery team for a range of challenging projects of significant scale and complexity.

Key Objectives

  • Administer the process of procuring services and equipment for company projects.
  • Work closely with project teams and customers to deliver a service that fully meets their requirements.
  • Support the procurement and supply chain team with the prequalification of existing and new supply chain partners.
  • Support the procurement and supply chain team with the assessment of all quotes/commercial terms and lead all technical and commercial analysis.
  • Present and gain approval of the Tender Recommendations from customers in accordance with the Procurement Strategy and Schedule.
  • Expedite and support engineering and construction teams to deliver procured items in accordance with the Project Schedule.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience within a procurement role in construction or related industries.
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of current UK procurement/finance legislation requirements (e.g., corruption).
  • Understanding of the engineering design process (preferable).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience working with construction contractors.
  • Experience delivering complex procurement packages.

  • Ability to work accurately and methodically under pressure and strict deadlines, including juggling multiple tasks.
  • Keen eye for detail and an ability to produce right the first time.
  • Ability to accept challenges from internal and external sources and negotiate mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Flexible to travel and spend time on-site as required to support projects.
  • Willingness to challenge decisions perceived as unsafe or against best practices.
