Job Description
Job title: Facilities Team Member
Pay: £13.90 per hour
Days: Monday Friday
Hours: 7am 3pm, 9am 5pm on rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks across student accommodation buildings and communal areas.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and decorating repairs within competency levels.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Replace fixtures, fittings, locks, light bulbs, and other building components as required.
Skills
- Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance operative, facilities, or building maintenance role.
- Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of health and safety requirements.
