Job Description
A1 Jobs have an immediate need for a Fabrication/Machine Shop Supervisor to join our clients thriving team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a skilled team of welders and machine operators.
- Operate and specialise in conventional horizontal boring (e.g. SH75 Kerns Richard).
- Use a variety of machine tools: lathe, milling machine, drill, etc.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and work to precise engineering tolerances.
- Carry out self-inspection throughout the manufacturing process.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain clean, organised work areas.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and help implement standard procedures.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a machine operator with supervisory responsibilities.
- Skilled in horizontal boring and confident in reading technical drawings.
- Positive, team-focused attitude, promoting collaboration and quality.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and performance.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience operating a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar boring machine.
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence.
- Experience using overhead cranes for loading/unloading.
- Familiar with machine shop safety standards and procedures.
