Overview

Lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high quality software solutions, drive technical excellence, foster a culture of innovation, and collaborate with cross functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Lead engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high performance culture.
  • Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization.
  • Mentor and support professional growth, conduct performance reviews and provide actionable feedback.
  • Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews and implement robust testing practices.
  • Develop and maintain inclusive, psychologically safe environments.
  • Advise key stakeholders and manage and mitigate risks.
  • Build trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Technical knowledge and leadership experience with Java and AWS services; drive technical vision and roadmaps; deep development background; coach and mentor; navigate organisational dynamics.

  • Deployment and quality engineering: design and optimise pipelines, implement release strategies, and lead test automation.
  • Agile and DevSecOps integration: advocate Agile values, coach on practices, embed DevSecOps into workflows.
  • Private Banking expertise (UK & International): knowledge of products, client journeys and regulatory landscape.
  • Strong communication and organisational influence skills.
