Role
Early Years Practitioner (Gaelic Medium) – Bun sgoil Taobh na Pàirce (Parkside Primary School). This is a sessional position operating 8:15 – 16:30 (13:15 on Fridays) for 36 hours per week over 39 weeks.
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: £30,188 – £34,452 (pro ratio for sessional). Working hours: 36 hours per week, 39 week sessional year.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging, play based learning environments that foster a love of learning.
- Support children in their Gaelic language journey and encourage bilingualism.
- Plan, implement and review the early years curriculum in a Gaelic medium context.
- Promote developmentally appropriate practice and record children’s progress.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant early years qualification (e.g., QTS, Level 3/4).
- Experience working with very young children, preferably in a bilingual environment.
- Ability to develop language skills and implement curriculum activities.
- Commitment to the school’s Gaelic medium ethos and inclusive values.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Qualified candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. Overseas criminal record checks may be required for those who have spent a continuous period of three months or more out of the UK in the last five years.
