Are you an experienced Credit Control Manager who enjoys leading a team, improving processes and making a real impact?

I am recruiting on behalf of an established and growing business in Glasgow that is looking for a confident Credit Control Manager to take ownership of its Credit Control function.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the Credit Control function.

You will:

  • Lead, motivate and develop an experienced Credit Control team
  • Manage team KPIs, SLAs and overall collection performance
  • Implement effective debt collection strategies
  • Monitor and reconcile complex customer accounts
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate Credit Control processes
  • Work closely with Finance to support cash flow forecasting
  • Manage escalated accounts and complex customer queries
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with legal advisors, debt collection agencies and other third parties
  • Produce Credit Control reports and present performance to senior management
  • Manage direct debit reviews, rejected payments and associated customer communications
  • Ensure processes remain compliant with relevant legislation and best practice

  • Proven experience managing a Credit Control team
  • Strong background within a fast paced, high volume Credit Control environment
  • Confident people manager who can motivate, coach and develop a team
  • Experience improving, streamlining or automating processes
  • Strong account reconciliation skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Confident dealing with escalated or complex accounts
  • Strong Excel and general IT skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • CICM qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
