Job Description
Civil Engineer Onshore for a major Offshore Wind Project based in The UK.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of technical documents / papers for internal review
- Preparation of employer’s requirements and technical specifications
- Management of contractors and subconsultants to ensure that their output meets HSSE, quality, and technical requirements in an adequate, economic and efficient manner
- Oversight of the complete Substation civil/structural design, as developed by consultants and contractors, including all interfaces with other disciplines, from planning drawings through FEED to the completion of detailed design
- Ensuring that the design and the as-built substation meet all consent and regulatory requirements
- Support to the project during the Detailed Design and Construction phase
- Input into the definition and execution of onshore ground investigations, site surveys and walkovers
- Oversight of the logistics plans and onshore transportation routes for all onshore substation related activities
- Giving technical input to other project functions in your area of knowledge/expertise
- Participation in project team meetings and cross-disciplinary co-operation
- Participation in procurement activities associated with onshore civil works in the project
- Define, identify and manage key interfaces between the different work packages and ensure they are captured in technical requirements and broader contract documentation
Requirements
- Degree educated in engineering or a related field with approximately 10 years experience
- Chartered or working towards chartered status
- Successful track record in the delivery of onshore civil works for the power industry
