Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating and maintaining customer relationships, and driving the future growth of our laser cutting, folding, fabrication, welding and sub assembly services.

The role requires an intuitive understanding of the fabrication industry, as well as the ability to engage with prospective customers, identify areas of potential, and develop opportunities accordingly.

The candidate will have a strategic focus, strong interpersonal and related sales skills, coupled with the ability to cultivate long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development and Sales:

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth and profitability objectives.

Conduct market research to identify potential markets and customers and understand their requirements and potential for development.

Identify and develop new business opportunities in traditional and new market sectors.

With appropriate organisational support, prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers

With appropriate organisational support, negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, ensuring favourable terms for the company.

Customer Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships across the spectrum of customer organisations; ie procurement, engineering, quality, npd, etc.

Develop, continuously improve, collate and report customer perception, satisfaction and performance-related feedback.

Serve as the primary point of contact for critical customers, addressing their needs and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships across the spectrum of our client’s organisational activity, ensuring customer requirements are met.

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

Contribute to the creation and execution of business development strategies in alignment with the company’s goals.

Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats.

Analyse sales data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of business development efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.

Marketing and Promotion:

With appropriate organisational support work to develop promotional materials and campaigns to attract new customers.

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote services and establish industry presence.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

Work with the senior management team to provide effective leadership in all interpersonal transactions, internally and with customers.

Collaborate, effectively, with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality and finance, to ensure efficient project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role in the fabrication or manufacturing related industry.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field is a plus; a relevant advanced degree is not a necessity.
  • Skills:
  • Have a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of the fabrication and subassembly processes in industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
