Anderson Knight is currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Assistant on behalf of a well-established and highly reputable organisation based in Ayrshire. Our client operates internationally and supports customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, offering innovative solutions within regulated and quality-driven sectors. The salary on offer for this role is between 28-30,000 and is fully office based.
This role will sit within a collaborative finance team and will report directly to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, providing comprehensive support across sales ledger, credit control and cashbook activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with all aspects of credit control, including customer contact, credit limit reviews and maintenance of new customer documentation
- Monitoring and reviewing the aged debtor ledger, producing monthly statements and updating customer hold lists
- Liaising with overseas customer service teams to resolve overdue invoices
- Setting up new customer accounts and allocating appropriate credit limits
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date sales ledger records
- Resolving invoice queries and disputes in a timely and professional manner
- Posting and reconciling cashbook transactions
- Managing weekly cheque deposits and promoting BACS payments to customers
- Supporting general office duties including answering telephone calls and assisting visitors
About You
- Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger role
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Sage and/or SAP would be advantageous, though training will be provided
- A relevant finance or accounting qualification is desirable but not essential
