Job Description
Job Purpose
To support and assist medical staff, sonographers, radiologists, radiographers and patients/carers during specialist radiographic procedures and ultrasound examinations, which include foetal anomaly scans, cardiac scans, placental site scans, cervix scans, pelvic scans, abdominal scans, kidney scans, testes scans, and intimate transvaginal examinations, providing direct clinical specialist support. Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of specialist equipment.
Working Hours
The Agenda for Change full time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week as of 1 April 2026. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. The hourly rate will increase to offset the reduction.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Applicants must hold a Personal Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership or record for the relevant regulatory group. If not a current PVG member, an application to Disclosure Scotland will be required before appointment.
Criminal Records Check
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, a regulated role may require a different level of criminal records check. The appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme if the role is assessed as regulated. Details will be confirmed by the hiring manager or recruitment team.
