Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and experienced Team Leader to join our recycling facility in Perth. This role involves overseeing a team of General Operatives, ensuring the safe and efficient processing of electrical equipment for disposal, driving performance, maintaining standards, and supporting the day-to-day running of the operation during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of General Operatives to achieve daily targets.
- Oversee sorting, dismantling, and processing of electrical equipment for recycling and disposal.
- Allocate tasks and manage workflow to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure all items are prepared in line with company and environmental regulations.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, support, and feedback.
- Carry out and oversee quality control checks to maintain high standards.
- Ensure safe handling of electrical goods and materials at all times.
- Enforce and promote strict adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Complete shift reports, maintain records, and communicate effectively with management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar Team Leader or supervisory role is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of recycling processes or similar industrial/production environments.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce quality standards.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure.
- Basic IT skills for reporting and operational tracking.
