About the Role
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a vital role in supporting adults with autism in a residential home setting. Every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact by helping residents build independence, confidence, and life skills while ensuring their health, safety, and well being.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home
- Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
- Administering and documenting medications
- Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills
- Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
- Completing required documentation accurately and professionally
- Supporting the overall day to day operation of the residence

Flexible in person interviews are available Monday through Friday at our administrative office in Morganville.
NHIA provides extensive hands on training to ensure every Direct Support Professional has the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to provide exceptional care and support. We invest in your success from day one.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree (diploma or transcripts required)
- Must be at least 20 years of age
- Valid, non probationary New Jersey driver’s license
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism
- Must successfully complete all pre employment requirements, including:
- Central Registry
- CARI
- DMV Check
- Drug Screening
- Physical Examination
- PPD Testing
Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour
