Job Description

Concrete Technical Manager
Up to £70,000 + company car + benefits
A genuine step up for a developing technical professional – the scope to set standards and own real responsibility, with senior mentoring behind you as you grow into a leading technical voice.
What’s in it for you:

  • Up to £70,000, plus company car and benefits
  • Structured mentoring from senior technical leadership – a role built to develop you
  • Real ownership from day one: technical and quality standards across concrete and aggregates
  • A long-established, family-owned construction materials group that invests in its plants, people and technical capability
  • A clear development path into a leading technical role

The role: Reporting to the Head of Technical, you’ll set and maintain technical and quality standards across concrete and related products. It’s hands-on and business-facing: Factory Production Control across concrete and aggregates, issuing certificates of design and compliance, advising the commercial team on specifications, supporting plant teams with day-to-day queries, and resolving customer issues when they arise. You’ll also support new product development, manage external certification activity, and help audit and develop the laboratory team.
What you’ll need:

  • A recognised concrete qualification – ICT Diploma in Concrete Technology, an industry degree or equivalent
  • A solid working knowledge of concrete technology
  • The personal credibility to operate alongside experienced technicians and plant operators
  • The appetite to develop within a structured technical function

You might be: a hands-on technical professional ready to step up, or someone from a UKAS-accredited testing lab, a building products operation or a related construction materials setting looking for production-focused, real-world impact. Quality Technician, Technical Officer or Materials Technologist backgrounds all fit.
Our client welcomes applications from all backgrounds and actively promotes equality and inclusion across its workforce.
