About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Delivery Manager (Operations) to join our growing team in Scotland.

As a Digital Delivery Manager you will drive continuous improvement of business processes and operating practices, support definition of and implement the Balfour Beatty Power Transmission and Distribution strategy, in conjunction with the Digital Lead, ensuring alignment with group digital minimum requirements.

What you’ll be doing

  • Engage early with all stakeholders to develop the projects digital strategy, digital execution plan and customer goals to match the EIRs.
  • Review EIRs and advise the delivery team of contract deliverables, strategy, programme, resources and supply chain capabilities/requirements to be included within the Balfour Beatty estimate.
  • Implement the use of agreed technologies and standardised processes to develop model(s) with data integrated into the design, construction and facilities operation/maintenance in accordance with the Project BIM Execution Plan.
  • Facilitate the process of digital coordination between project participants.
  • Ensure information is managed via the projects common data environment, ensuring security and accuracy.
  • Training and support framework for digital and information management across departments.
  • Work with the project team to use digital deliverables to promote CDM regulation and zero harm compliance, inform risk mitigation on projects (e.g., commercial, environmental, sustainability, etc.) and engage with the team to implement people/processes/culture/technology to limit/mitigate potential conflicts beforehand.
  • Provide reports/innovation case studies created on a regular basis that aid improved project delivery, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver presentations to internal and external parties on the benefits from delivering digital and information management processes on projects.
  • Track and report the progress of the project implementation and delivery reporting value gained from the implementation of digital processes.
  • Lead digital objective workshops to define project digital deliverables and define SMART KPIs.
  • Develop processes; implement a digital culture with the use of digital technology across the project aligned with Balfour Beatty Built to Last and build a digital Balfour Beatty.
  • Support the management of project digital budgets.
  • Research, develop, implement, review new ways of working which will benefit projects.
  • Promote Balfour Beatty to its customers and business partners.

Who we’re looking for

  • Extensive general industry experience with previous experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding customer requirements in the context of ISO 19650, the Information Management Initiative, contracts and documentation.
  • Writing digital plans and procedures for bids and live projects.
  • Ability to assess supplier partnership capabilities on projects and advise the procurement team.
  • Understanding of digital surveying standards, methods and procedures to integrate with project information models.
  • Experience in design review processes, model management, model federation, leading clash detection meetings and managing results to resolution.
  • Working knowledge of the Balfour Beatty project CDE environment.
  • Ability to coordinate projects in accordance with the project BIM Execution Plan and other associated documents.
  • Support the project team in the delivery of graphical (models/drawings) and non-graphical (data) in line with the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Develop models to identify health & safety risks in line with relevant standards.
  • Understanding of security management as per relevant standards and ability to communicate with project teams.
