Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non clinical professions. This Locum Consultant Post in General Paediatrics is based at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC), Glasgow, and is part of the Women and Children’s Directorate. The role is full time, fixed term for six months, and involves providing integrated, consultant delivered general paediatric care within the hospital and in outpatient settings across Greater Glasgow and Medway clubs and localities throughout GGC and Argyll & Bute.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultant level care to paediatric patients in the RHC and other localities.
  • Work closely with paediatric specialists, emergency medicine colleagues, and community child health services.
  • Contribute to a dedicated general paediatric department within a large teaching hospital that serves Greater Glasgow and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
  • Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in General Paediatrics, or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), or within six months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
  • Post graduate qualification MRCPCH or equivalent (or equivalent for non UK applicants).
  • For UK trained applicants: completion of higher specialist training; for non UK applicants: demonstration of equivalent qualifications and training.
