Zenith-Energy are working with our E&P Operator client who are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to work with them on a contract basis. This can either be based in Aberdeen, or UK remote with East Africa site visits.
Qualifications / Experience
- Extensive years in civil engineering
- Engineering degree
- Remote infrastructure and wellsite preparation experience
- Applicants will have experience working directly for Oil & Gas Operators.
Role Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting with the Civil engineering work required for below;
- Develop key C&P templates jointly with Client (e.g. Strategy Doc, RTA, ITT package) to be used in the campaign
- In-Country Site Visit & Reconnaissance
- Conduct a detailed field visit to the wellsite, access roads, and associated infrastructure (e.g. camp pads, water points) to assess current conditions, verify as-built status, and identify any degradation or reinstatement needs post-suspension.
- Gap Assessment of Remaining Civil Scope
- Review completed vs. outstanding civil works (e.g. base course, drainage, pad condition, water/waste pits) against original scope and issue updated operational requirements for a single-well campaign. Evaluate auger/conductor mobilisation cost vs using a drilling rig. Evaluate pit requirements considering water transport. Identify water source with cost for transportation.
- Single Source vs. Tender Strategy Evaluation
- Develop or update technical scope of work, drawings, specifications, and evaluation criteria for inclusion in the tender package, ensuring alignment with revised operational needs.
Tender Evaluation & Award Recommendation
- Lead technical evaluation of bids (or single-source proposal), including compliance checks, schedule, methodology, and cost benchmarking; prepare award recommendation for Client.
Technical Execution Plan Development
- Collaborate with selected contractor to finalise construction methodology, sequencing, equipment mobilisation, and QA/QC protocols tailored to the revised scope and timeline.
- Cost Estimate & Budget Alignment
- Prepare a detailed cost estimate for the remaining civil works, including contingencies, and align with Client Company budget expectations for a single-well operation.
Assurance & Acceptance Framework
- Define the assurance process for completed work and final acceptance criteria to be signed off by the Well Team Lead.
- Schedule Integration
- Align civil works schedule with drilling mobilisation and logistics timelines, identifying critical path activities and potential bottlenecks.
- HSE interface Planning
- Ensure HSE engagement plans are updated.
