Personal Assistant – Galashiels – 2906
Job Description
I’m a gentleman with some physical difficulties who lives Galashiels. I’m looking for a small team of PAs, Monday to Sunday for 2 visits per day, first visit is late morning to apply cream/support with breakfast/prompt medication and second is at teatime to apply cream/ support with evening meal/meds. This would suit experienced PAs who can support and encourage independence.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Be there when I shower/wash independently, assist if required, apply cream to my back
- Wash my back on non-shower days and reapply cream
- Assist to wear clean clothes
- Support with breakfast/help tidy up
- Prompt and supervise me to make sure I take my medication during every visit
- Assist me to go shopping for main meal food/drinks
- Support with main meal/help tidy up
- Wash area at teatime and reapply cream/pain relief gel for me
Personal attributes
- Friendly and experienced in the care sector
- Practical and good communicator
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Ideally a driver with business insurance (for the shopping day)
Hours of work (Flexible)
- 4 times a week for 45 minutes late morning for non-shower days
- 3 times a week for 1-hour late morning for shower days
- Monday to Sunday for 45 minutes around 6.00pm
- Up to 2 hours once a week to escort and assist with grocery shopping
- Days/Times are flexible and to be agreed
The terms
- £13.00 per hour
- 5.6 weeks annual leave on a pro rata basis
