Part Time Temporary HR Assistant
Working week: 20 hours over 5 days (Hybrid with 2 to 3 days in office, must be in office on Tuesdays)
Contract: 3 months with potential to be extended
Salary: £28,769 (pro rata)
Location: Edinburgh City Centre
Start Date: ASAP
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced and proactive HR Assistant to provide essential day to day HR support for an initial 3 month contract, with potential to extend.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident working independently, comfortable managing a varied HR workload, and able to quickly get up to speed without close supervision.
About the Role
Working 20 hours per week, you will play a key role in supporting core HR operations. You’ll be the go to contact for recruitment administration, HR systems support, and general employee lifecycle management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy and thrives in a busy, people focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment processes, including placing adverts, managing applications, arranging interviews, and preparing offers, contracts, and onboarding paperwork.
- Issue pay award letters for 40+ employees.
- Manage leaver processes such as exit interviews and updating records in Breathe.
- Maintain and update the Breathe HR system, assisting managers and staff with queries.
- Help administer employee benefits and ensure accurate records.
About You
This role requires someone experienced, organised, and confident working independently. You will often be working without the day to day presence of the HR Manager, so being able to work proactively and manage your workload effectively is essential.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous HR Assistant experience
- Strong ability to work autonomously
- Confident using HR systems (experience with Breathe highly desirable)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
