Surfacing Manager

- Annual Salary: 40,000- 50,000
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Surfacing Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of asphalt/tar surfacing operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the daily management of surfacing projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate resources including workforce, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, site teams, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure all works are completed to the highest standards and in accordance with project specifications and company procedures.
- Monitor project performance, including cost control, productivity, and programme adherence.
- Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards across all site activities.
- Lead and motivate site teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, addressing any technical or operational issues promptly.
- Provide clear and accurate progress reports to senior management.
- Support additional operational tasks as required to meet business objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a surfacing management role within the asphalt/tar surfacing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of surfacing methods, materials, equipment, and site operations.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS, NRSWA).
- Flexibility required for occasional overtime and weekend work to meet project demands
