Hygiene Team Leader

Location: Central Belt

Shift: 07:00-19:00, 4 on 4 off

Salary: Competitive

We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager to join the Hygiene Team at a site in the Central Belt. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the business, known for producing a variety of products to the retailers

Key Responsibilities:

As a Hygiene Team Leader , you will provide essential leadership to operational support teams, ensuring the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) on an hourly and shift basis. Your role will involve:

  • Providing daily operational support leadership for your designated area.
  • Ensuring safe hygiene compliance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and proper care of manufacturing assets.
  • Liaising with the Site Operations Manager for planning and safe execution of hygiene and operational tasks.
  • Organising and briefing staff on job allocations, risk assessments, and PPE usage.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, technical, and HR teams.
  • Coaching and motivating your team to ensure adherence to business procedures.
  • Participating in internal and supporting external audits (e.g., BRC).
  • Assisting with site facilities management and contractor oversight.
  • Contributing to the review and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Delivering results against agreed KPIs and driving productivity to meet cost standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 2 years of hygiene experience in food production.
  • Level 3 Award in Food Safety.
  • Understanding of chemicals; COSHH training is ideal (training can be provided).
  • Highly organised, motivated, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems and identify solutions.
  • Team player with a tenacious approach.
  • Forklift or scissor lift licence is an advantage but not essential.

Desirable Skills:

  • Educated to ILM L2 or equivalent in a related vocational subject.
  • Familiarity with plant and process manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing.
