Requirements:
- A sound knowledge of working with children and young people.
- An understanding of the role that a Young Carer and Young Adult Carer have and how this can impact their life.
- The skills for a demanding, yet very rewarding job delivering one to one support.
- The skills to help deliver group sessions.
- The flexibility to work after school hours into the early evening, occasional weekend work and residentials.
- Access to own car.
We have a vacancy in the Young Carers Project team, and require a Young Carers/Young Adult Carers Support Workers.
Post: 15 hours per week – £25,538 full time equivalent

The postholder will:
- Provide support to Young Carers & Young Adult Carers across Dumfries & Galloway.
- Have knowledge of working with children and young people is essential, as is access to own car.
- Have an awareness of the workings of the third sector, health and social care services would be an advantage.
- Have a knowledge of digital applications is essential and experience of using virtual platforms would be an advantage.
The post will include a blended approach of home and office working.
