Job Description

We re hiring a Workshop Technician for a market leading subsea controls business in Aberdeen.

The role had been created due to business growth and increased workload.

The successful candidate will be required to assemble, test, run diagnostics, repair and refurbishment of Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical subsea production control system equipment.

The role is workshop based in Aberdeen, with occasional work on customer sites, offshore and overseas. (Offshore certs would be advantageous but not essential)

Candidates will be qualified to a minimum SVQ or above in an Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical discipline (or equivalent experience)

Role Description

  • Assembly and test of Subsea electrical and electronic equipment, including but not limited to: electrical flying leads (EFL), subsea electrical distribution units (EDU), subsea control modules (SCM), transformer units and pressure/temperature sensors (PT/PTTs)
  • Assembly and test/flush of hydraulic equipment, including but not limited to: hydraulic hoses/flying leads (HFL); hydraulic and chemical bundles; hydraulic stabplates; subsea distribution units (SDU); accumulators; hydraulic power units (HPU); hydrostatic pressure testing and flushing to AS4059 class 6 B-F; high pressure pipe/small-bore tubing assembly.
  • Strip down, test, diagnose and rectify faults on electrical and hydraulic topside and subsea equipment
  • Electrical testing, including but not limited to: Insulation Resistance (IR); Continuity Resistance (CR); Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR); Optical TDR; High Voltage & Low Voltage; Very Low Frequency (VLF)
  • Travel offshore independently to perform testing and maintenance work scopes on Subsea equipment

Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidates will be qualified to a minimum SVQ or above in an Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical discipline (or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience working on Electrical/ Mechanical / Hydraulic Subsea equipment.
  • Willing to travel as required to customer sites and offshore as required .
  • Full UK Driving License and valid passport
