Lanarkshire, £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, Overtime: Paid at 1.5x when required, Perm

Responsibilities:

  • Hours: Monday Thursday 8:30am 4:30pm, Friday 8:30am 3:00pm
    Lunch: 30 minutes daily
  • Supervise and support daily workshop activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely
  • Plan, allocate, and monitor workloads to meet deadlines
  • Ensure equipment is prepared and maintained in line with regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections, identify faults, and coordinate repairs
  • Maintain high health and safety standards and ensure compliance at all times
  • Keep accurate records, documentation, and quality checks
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and organise stock replacement
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of 13 fleet vehicles, including arranging and attending MOTs
  • Drive fleet vehicles to MOT appointments when required
  • Assist with deliveries if necessary
  • Liaise with management, engineers, and other departments
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle client queries professionally
  • Identify and implement improvements to workshop processes and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in workshop management or a similar supervisory role within a technical or manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of assembly processes and equipment repair techniques
  • Full UK driving licence (manual) essential
  • Experience managing fleet vehicles (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment
  • Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications (desirable but not essential)
