About the role

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Window Cleaning Technician on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting to

Deputy Head of Facilities Services (Cleaning)

Main purpose of the role

To help create pleasant, safe, and visually appealing environments across all schools and properties in Brighton College by ensuring the efficient and reliable provision of window cleaning services.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning interior and exterior glass across all sites.
  • The creation of a cleaning rota based on the requirements and accessibility of the buildings.
  • Ensuring that all window cleaning equipment is in good working order.
  • Cleaning up after each job, ensuring that there is no residue or dirt left behind.
  • Assisting the rest of the cleaning department, as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable management request.
  • Additional cleaning required for Open Mornings and College events across all sites, which may require weekend working as overtime.

Qualifications

  • A valid driving licence.
  • Proven window cleaning experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the industry and related health and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • The ability to work at different heights.
  • The ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm with a 60 minute unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week). Additional hours may be required to support four Saturday Open Mornings from 6.00am to 9.00am, which will be paid on top of salary.

Remuneration

£28,080 per annum (£13.50 per hour).

Holidays

23 days plus bank holidays; increases to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
